About

Hemetera Literary Journal, is an annual spring publication of student work at Regis College in Weston, MA. The journal was first published in 1946, and continues to this day to be published in print. Students make up a panel of editors for the journal, with the guidance of a professor. To read more about the current editors, click here.

Hemetera showcases works of poetry, fiction, nonfiction and art. We look for the unique, the wild, the exciting and the captivating to fill our pages.

“Sometimes it seems that books have gone out of style. Many people, it may appear to even the most casual observer, prefer to click through websites, watch television, or text message friends during spare time.
[With the production of Hemetera,] we are affirming our belief in the power of literature and in the value of communication via the written word.”

– Jennifer LeBlanc, editor from 2006-2010.

In December of 2014, the online home of Hemetera was born. Recognizing the changing prefered medium in the publishing industry, but still wishing to produce a physical journal, Hemetera decided to have both. The website serves as a space for uploading copies of the printed journal, and also as a space for online publication more frequently than we could produce in print.
